In this continuing education (CE) course for massage therapists, you will gain a deeper understanding of migraines, including how they differ from regular headaches. You’ll explore the various phases, types, triggers, and symptoms of migraines to better assess and tailor your approach to clients experiencing these conditions.
Through a review of current research and findings, you will learn about the benefits of massage therapy in the management and relief of migraine pain. The course will also introduce you to essential oils known for their migraine-relieving properties, and guide you in selecting and applying them in your practice.
In addition, you will identify and locate key muscles commonly involved in migraines and headaches, and explore effective massage techniques for targeting these areas. The course also covers the use of stones and their strategic placement to help mitigate migraine symptoms, as well as the development of a comprehensive bodywork routine that supports relaxation and healing.
By the end of this course, you will be equipped with a range of tools and techniques to offer clients effective, holistic care for migraines, enhancing their well-being and helping reduce the frequency and severity of their symptoms.
All stones, ice, trays, oils, and materials will be provided to use in instruction of class.

Massage therapists will gain a deeper understanding of how Eastern medicine views pain, tension, and imbalance, and how this perspective can enhance their intuitive and clinical approach to touch. Through lecture, guided discussion, and hands-on techniques, participants will learn how to incorporate energetic awareness into their sessions, identify meridian pathways, and apply basic Eastern diagnostic tools to support holistic client care.

EMA believes that the foundation of quality bodywork begins with the FUNDAMENTALS.... you got it... KNOWING YOUR ANATOMY! Like the back of your hand! That is why we have developed Syndaver education "The Human Body Rediscovered".
Cadaver Experience has been described by students as extremely eye opening. Seeing the body in a three dimensional sense allows them to have a much firmer understanding of muscles in relationship to surrounding structures such as the organs and the skeletal system they envelop. This approach to learning about the body is highly engaging for our students. They get to actually see the layers of muscles and the relationship of connective tissues layers within the body.
Working with the SYNdaver (simulation of living tissues) we can feel living tissue samples, as well as not be exposed to the harmful preservatives that you have with cadaver labs.
“I often like to say that being a Massage Therapist, or any type of manual or movement therapist / practitioner, and never having seen the inside of the human body is like being a car mechanic and never having opened up the hood!” – Dr. Joe Muscolino
